Tracy and I first met on the streets of NYC 8 years ago. It was love at first sight. Many people know Tracy as the vintage goddess from Prism of Threads. When I first think of Tracy as an artist, I see her as a creature from one of her psychedelic paintings. The first painting she ever made for me was of an Owl. This opened up a whole new dimension for Tracy as she soon begin painting the most tripped out owls you could ever imagine! Here she is pictured above painting on a vintage mellotron of Jonathan Wilson's back in the Laurel Canyon days. Also is a photograph of her from a NY show with two of her epic paintings. Soon she will be hand painting some of her magic on silks. I can only imagine the trip she is going to take us all on! If you ever get the opportunity to hang out with Tracy, she will have you rolling on the floor with laughter and probably soon talking about poop. :) Prism Of Threads

Whenever I think of Alia I see her surrounded by beautiful woman amongst rainbows of light in all directions. Her artwork takes you on a dreamscape where you never want to leave. She is definitely one of the woman artists coming out of LA I most admire. Alia is a true gem and I am always excited to see whats she's creating next! Alia Penner

| I first fell in Love with Maria because of the family she comes from. My partner Agustin owes a lot to the Calderon Family. After all, it was Maria's sister Ana who Agustin lived with in his early twenties and then of course her amazing father Pedro who first shared with Agustin the beauty of Peru and the people there. This inspired his first trip into the amazon at the age of 24. Whenever we are in Kansas we always make sure to have a visit with the Calderon's. Maria's paintings are a combination of indigenous life and the reality we mostly all live in today. Her balance of these two weave in the most beautiful rainbow imagery. Her work reminds us where we come from and where we are going. Its all up to us! Maria not only gifts us with her imagery but she also shares her love of yoga with the folks of Kansas City teaching weekly yoga classes outdoors at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Gracias Maria!! | So honored to say I know this hot Mama!! She has a heart of gold which doesn't surprise me coming from the midwest. Ashley and I hung out this Spring and I felt like I just couldn't get enough of her. Her sweet little Kansas City home mirrors what she creates in her drawings. The colors and details she produces are so many things in one, yet also so simple and raw. I mostly love the spiritual essence and indigenous vibration she shares through her work. I hear she is currently working on a lactating breast image! Can't wait to see the magic! Ashley Lande |

Bernadette is the only reason I miss living in NY. We first met while working together at Miss Sixty in the Nolita neighborhood. We would spend hours together looking at magazines and dreaming of our images one day gracing the pages of these glossies. Lets just say Bernadette has definitely fulfilled her dreams! I am so proud of this NY native. You can see her artwork in the pages of W, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Glamour, and Harpers Bazaar to name a few. Not to mention she has one of the most epic blogs out there!!! Thank you for reminding us to dream big Bern! Decade Diary ▴Golden Haze▴

With so many woman artists out there, Sara is one of the ones supporting them all! I am never surprised to see a comment or a message of encouragement from this Virginia Beauty. Her 60's and 70's music and fashion influences reflect in her art. I hope to one day spend time with this treasure. Sara is also a DJ. Check out her etsy shop! Golden Haze

I see so many out there posting about what they want to be doing or creating this image of who they want to be but Carly is one of the few actually DOING it!! These are the women that inspire me most. You can tell from her pieces that she herself is doing some strong inner traveling. Whether venturing to Peru or traveling on the Mothership, Carly's artwork opens interdimentional portals we should all jump into! You can feel from her pieces she surrounds herself wholly with the highest of vibrations. Thank you for tuning into the heart Carly. Don't forget to check out her monthly events at her Venice beach studio! ALL FOR THE MOUNTAIN

I am grateful to call Danielle one of my closest sisters. When I moved back to California from NYC Danielle came just a few months after. We emerged ourselves in the Canyon life playing music, spending days at the beach, crafting and dancing the nights away. It was Danielle who really inspired me to start making jewelry. She was one of the first women I had met that was actually making GORGEOUS things. From Tie dying, to leather work, casting and sewing, to the clothes she wears, Danielle represents beauty in all directions. Luckily for us, there will soon be two little wee ones coming from this being of light!!! Onward into the Future
⟁THE LEATHERWORKERS⟁
▴Three Arrows Leather▴

I first discovered Sessan through some photos someone had shot of her and some friends out in Joshua Tree. She seemed to stand out from the rest and still does. Her blog is one of my favorites to read. Though I don't follow fashion much, I always enjoy the images she chooses to share. Sessan is also another one of those woman really LIVING her dream. She lives in New Mexico with her honey in an earthship, far away from all the static and noise the cities tend to bring. This I'm sure allows her plenty of time to really just BE. The desert vibration is pouring out of her being and you feel it with the leatherwork that she creates. Thank you for feeding us all, the simplicity we sometimes crave. Look for her new Three Arrows leather pieces coming soon!! Three Arrows Leather

Though I haven't had the pleasure of spending time with Leslie, I know her man Caleb quite well! His band Headdress used to drop by my old Eagle Rock house when they were on tour and stay with me when I was living in my tipi. Such a southern gentleman, it's no wonder he scored the ultimate fox!! Leslie can make anything look good! Her leatherwork is always evolving as she can make anything from a leather beaded necklace to a highly intricate and detailed buckskin wedding dress. She comes from a family of crafters and it shows through her native bloodline. I look forward to the day when we can finally connect in the physical. Heyoka Leather

Rhiannon was one of the beautiful women I met through the Laurel Canyon Jams. She was about to head up to Ashland Oregon to leave the city life for awhile. I gifted her one of my favorite books "Living on the Earth" as i knew it would come in handy for her journey. Soon after this I started seeing her jewelry popping up all over the place. Being a beader myself I have the most respect for this woman as beading isn't something that just anyone can do. It takes skilled hands and a lot of patience to create one small piece. Rhiannon definitely has this covered. The colors she uses evokes a certain ancient vibration that is familiar to us all. I would have to say she has been doing this for many lifetimes. Ghost Dancer

Alina is one of the many gems that comes from the golden town, Nevada City. Through my friendship with Alela Diane I was first introduced to Alina. We spent some time together off the Mendo Coast a few years back. Alina was making beaded earrings and I quickly fell in love with them, having her make me whatever she dreamed up. These earrings are still some of my favorite pieces. Her designs are unique in their own way, adding one of a kind patterns and colors alike. Alina also makes amazing music. Her voice is angelic on its own. Such a gentle light, yet shining so bright. Hardin Jewelry

The ultimate Goddess Mama, my beautiful sister Amalia. I first saw Amalia at our local farmers market here on Kauai. I hadn't had a lady crush in a long time but Amalia quickly changed that. She is so many amazing things in one, an herbalist, a jewelry maker, an epic cook and an amazing mother to three small children. I look to Amalia as a serious mentor. She is just one of those magical woman doing it all and still holding it together. Her necklaces are my absolute favorites! You feel the Kauai Rainbows flowing out of each piece. Simple and delicate yet so full of mana. I never take mine off and even forget it's even there. If you want to capture the magic of Kauai, email Amalia about picking up one of her gems. I love knowing this woman is just down the road. Rainbow Gems

Many tell us that we look like sisters. Pretty close as Megan is married to my beloved's brother Corey. Another one of these midwestern beauties creating from the heart. Megan wraps crystals and precious stones in leather. She sells out of her pieces so quickly she can't even keep them up on etsy! She is one of the many women doing craft fairs throughout the year. Megan gives with her whole being! When she isn't making jewelry she's working as an occupational therapist helping the elders. Thank you for honoring these beautiful beings that have so much to share and teach us. Feather Spring Arts

Thank goodness for this woman! I think we were all wanting someone to start making amazing, organic, earth friendly beauty products and alas... here she is!! Every time I would run into Jen while I was living in LA I always got such a good vibe from her. Just one of those rare souls that always leaves you feeling good. I was so excited to hear she was making beauty products. Whether you wear just a simple lip balm and mascara or the full on look, Jen makes it all and its not only good for your skin but also good for Mama Earth. Aside from creating blends for Naked Eye Beauty, Jen's also a hairstylist, makeup artist and musician. Wow. Naked Eye Beauty

Need some help building a cob house, sewing up an amazing dress or a guide to take you on an epic Big Sur tour? Karie can definitely help you! I met Karie through my lovely sister Kristin (see below) and fell in love with her immediately. I totally admired all that she was doing. Single and free, living amongst the mountains, pines and coast of Big Sur. A true gypsy traveling about whether in Costa Rica, Guatemala, India or the east coast to name a few. Several years back Karie started making amazing bags with the help of some Vermont living inspiration. Super solid and able to hold whatever it is your wanting to carry. These bags are true works of art that will last for many moons to come! Shelter Protects You

When I think of Kristin I think of a babe that can make anything she wants and has fun doing it. Her birthday gifts are always my favorite as I know it's going to be something made with her own sweet hands and magical in every way! For the last decade she has worked as an interior designer but just recently "retired" and will now have time to start sharing with us more of her treasures... YES!! She is constantly surrounding herself with awesome things. Her house is a perfect example. Right now she and her partner Derek are remodeling their Laurel Canyon 1940's wooden bungalow. She is always scoring the ultimate vintage finds so I can only imagine what this house will look like! Hopefully you will see her on Moon to Moon one day soon! : ) I love this woman with all of my heart. She's the perfect balance of someone who can rip up a tile floor one day and embroider a delicate quilt the next. KK, you're amazing. From Lookout Mountain This of course isn't even a pinprick of the amazing woman doing beautiful things! Look out soon for a post on some of my favorite poets, photographers, filmmakers, mystics, healers, etc!!

I am so humbled to be here! Some gals I know and some I'm delighted to discover. What you said when you were in KC about the shift to sisterhood really resonated in me. I so treasure and admire my sacred sisters!
Hi Amy!I've commented on a few of your other posts, I'm the one planning on moving to the Big Island soon. Anyway, I just wanted to say that this is the best thing on the internet right now! The love you show for all your fellow beauties/creative geniuses reflects the love that you are. So beautiful and inspiring. mahalo, so much aloha to you xx
You know when you're young and in school and you think you don't need to be paying attention to the teacher because you can't imagine using certain tools later on in life? I remember sitting in english often thinking " I will never have a mass audience reading anything of mine so there is no need to take this stuff seriously." Things definitely have shifted for so many of us I'm sure. Thank you for being patient with me and all of my wild grammar tactics. I am reprograming so many common slacking skills with my writing. Grateful to be starting fresh!
On another note.... I LOVE YOU ALL!! Celebrating this amazing life and all of the beautiful humans that exist here! Men, woman, children, winged ones, four leggeds, aliens... all of it! xx
Amazing women!! Amazing post!! Thank you for sharing their beauty and inspiring us all! xo

Dear Amy,
recently I found your blog that is full of wonder, beauty and love.
It is amazing and it feels so right that your able to make your living from your art and yoga.
I am from Germany and there so many artists struggle or have to do odd jobs because of the lots of duty insurances and fees which are to pay.
Much love and greetings
from the far away Germany
