Naia and I in Midwifery Today!!

What an honor!!!  Naia and I were featured in the last issue of Mid Wifery today! I had no idea that when I posted this photo to my blog back in April (see original post here) that it would soon go viral.   I have read some prettty amazing quotes that people have posted about the photo.  The best were people thinking i was actually hanging from the tree!?  I did love the "milk bong" quotes along with "good till the last drop" and "Mothers.... The ultimate multitaskers". The truth is we were living on a small community in Hawaii where our land was clothing optional and yoga was/is a necessity!  I was just doin’ my daily flow when the little sweet pea came to sneak a suckle. Papa had her out in the grass with him and she just couldn’t resist! This happens all the time by the way. When a breast is out and babies around, they are going to try and get it anyway they can!
Here is a little story that i shared about Naia's home water birth for the article along with the photo in black and white.  Thank you to all those who laughed and loved for the two of us. xx

Wonderful! Congrats! And I agree, when there is a boob in sight, baby is going to try to get it!

I love the new look here! Amy, that photo is so endearing, I've blogged it, shared it everywhere. I love to see babes on the boob! Thank you so for my sweet leather necklace-my mate was so happy to present me with it for Solstice. I wear it proudly knowing that it was made with your integrity. xoxoxo pixie

Oh my goodness, I am SO happy to have found your blog.

Now I know whose is the beautiful photo of the beautiful yogi mama upside downing feeding. I love that image. It's iconic.

Long story short - I put your photo on Facebook because I just LOVED it so darn much - and it promptly got removed. So outraged, I put it back up. And long story short, it caused a mini-riot.

Anyway - I'm going to source you - I am SO, so chuffed to have tracked you down.

i posted your pic thinking it was BEAUTIFUL, on facebook and got some rather interesting posts about you being held against your will and how your baby would be so embarrassed by you being naked. It made me question my friends and I have since deleted those who said these things. I could just tell this was an awesome and beautifully captured moment and thats the feeling i got from it. Thank you for sharing and letting us share. Youre a beauty !!!

Thank you for your kind words Sonya!!! There are many out there who dont understand the breastfeeding yoga photo. This is a great opportunity for us to practice compassion with others as we are all unique with different experiences and different realities!! : ) Thank you for being able to see the light in this and to share in the love! Aloha! xx

The top of upbringing, sports and breastfeeding. She should be recognized as mother of the decade.
